Ben Nachum Releases Debut Single: A Musical Journey Between Roots and Innovation
Israeli-American Singer-Songwriter Brings the Sounds of His Childhood to the World Stage in His First Release, Revealing a Unique Intergenerational Collaboration
Personal Background:
Ben-Nahum, 34, is a living example of cultural fusion. Born to a Hungarian-Czech father and a Yemenite mother, Ben-Nahum grew up in Moshav Hodaya near Ashkelon, in a modest farming household. He absorbed diverse musical influences from his childhood. "My musical journey began in the Yemenite synagogue, passed through bonfires and gatherings with friends, and on to stages in Miami," he recounts. "My family is a simple family, and that's what shapes my work to this day."
Professional Journey:
Ben-Nahum's journey led him from the kibbutzim surrounding Gaza, through Tel Aviv, to Miami, where he currently resides. He combines a diverse career including real estate, personal coaching, and musical creation. "Each of these fields nourishes my creativity in a different way," Ben-Nahum explains.
Unique Collaboration:
The album "Shaya's Stories" was born from a special collaboration with Yeshaya Bitan, the father of Ben-Nahum's best friend. "We connected through music," Ben-Nahum explains. "Yeshayah brought with him rich life experience and a deep connection to tradition, and I brought freshness and innovation. Together, we created something that is both authentic and contemporary."
The Debut Single:
Nachum's first-ever single is a modern adaptation of a traditional synagogue melody. "It's a prayer and a cry," he says. "Like a baby crying to its mother, I express my longing for roots, for home, and for a deeper connection." "The entire upcoming album is a musical journey through the memories and experiences that shaped me."
Creative Process:
"The creation of 'Shaya's Stories' was a journey in itself," Ben-Nahum describes. "We sat together, Yeshaya and I, singing, writing, and composing. Sometimes it was by a bonfire, sometimes in the living room. Each meeting was an encounter between worlds, and that's exactly what we wanted to bring to the album."
Vision and Message:
Ben-Nahum believes his music speaks to a wide audience. "We're bringing the Jewish story, but in a way that anyone can connect to," he explains. "This album is about tradition, family, friendship, and the search for meaning in the modern world." "The big challenge is to make deep content accessible in a world focused on materialism," Ben-Nahum says. "I don't define myself as a religious person, but as part of a people with a story thousands of years old. My music is my way of telling this story."
Summary:
With the release of his debut single, the first taste of his upcoming album, Ben-Nahum bridges deep roots in tradition with a vision for the future. He creates music that spans worlds and speaks to the heart. This first song marks the beginning of an exciting musical journey, offering just a glimpse of the rich musical landscape that's about to unfold.
